Like most starving writers, I don’t have the money for overseas travel. In fact, my passport is so old, they don’t make them like that any more.
But I can dream.
To that end, I’ve been enjoying Peregrine Online, written by a blogger friend of mine whom I met on the old writingup.com community.
She’s lived in Asia for years and her long experience there brings a wonderful dash of culture, nitty-gritty practicality and fun to her Peregrine Online posts.
Even though I’m not heading off for Shanghai or Singapore any time soon, I can still identify with such posts as “The Migratory Lifestyle” about packing bags, checking them again and again, and waiting in airport lines. Anyone who’s boarded a plane lately knows what she’s talking about here: “Rush about. Sit and wait.”
I’ve added her blog to the blogroll here. Check it out for fun, but look at Peregrine Online in detail if you’re heading for Asia on vacation or on business.
